The HCI444E1 alternator is a part of the Stamford HC4 range. As with other alternators in this range, the HCI444E1 is a very efficient alternator that is used mainly in critical standby power applications, industrial buildings and grid code applications among others. 

The excitation system for this alternator is a self exciting system. The Stamford HCI434E1 is the same alternator with the same specifications but has a PMG excitation system instead.
